Promark

Who is your favorite stick manufacturer (what kind do you use)?

I've played VicFirth and Zildjian and really like both, but the tips go "dead" in a short amount of time. I play on top of the hi hat with the tip most of the time, rather than with the shoulder of the stick. Nylon tips are too bright for my taste, so I picked up a pair of Promark 5a to give a shot. After a 3 hour rehearsal the sticks felt great and tips were as nice as when I started. I'll keep you posted of how these sticks hold up.

What I've gathered about Promarks is this:

If your sticks wear out cuz you chip the tips then Promark is a good bet cuz their tips last longer. If your sticks wear out cuz you break them in half then Promark is prolly not your best bet, Vic Firth or Vater sticks tend to last a bit longer.

Many folks will disagree with me I'm sure, everyone has had different experiences.

I've been playing with the Promark sticks through a couple of services and practices. The tips really are holding up well. I must admit I still really like the feel of the Vicfirth sticks.
