Baseball Season

Postby num1bamafan12 on Wed Apr 04, 2007 6:44 pm

Anyone have any predictions on this year? If the Braves bullpen pulls threw this year and barring any major injury...they could put up a fight i feel.
But this one goes to 11...

yes! even though the season has already started... they seem to be playing well. that bullpin is 200% better than last years. and their record shows it. i think they have the ability to re-claim the division title this year.

word. just wait until after the allstar break for the mets to collapse under the pressure of a repeat d-title. plus who knows, andruw jones might get a hit every once in a while that'll actually matter. the real worry to this season is the playoffs, i suspect the national league won't be much...but the series against the top team from the american league (boston), thats some trouble.

My Grandfather-in-law is the most ridiculously hardcore Braves fan I know. He's 93 years old; he eats sleeps and watches Atlanta Braves Baseball. He predicts that this year the Braves will take the division title, but will lose the series to an American League team.

your grandfather is probably right. the braves have a much better team this year, but when it comes to beating #1 Boston or Detroit Tigers, they would have a hard time.
hopefully they'll surprise us, though. if Andruw Jones finally gets out of this slump and starts hitting his usual numbers, and if they can get some good starting pitchers (including keeping Smoltz healthy), they could stand a chance.
